As any marine hobbyist knows the hardest thing about keeping salt water fish is providing them with a balanced diet that they will accept eagerly, most marine life that we keep in our home Aquariums are wild court and has spent its life feeding on the abundant smorgasbord on offer at their local restaurant “The Great Barrier Reef Diner and Deli”.
Also the first few days/weeks in your new Aquarium it’s important to provide a diet that is readily excepted to allow this new fish to be full bellied happy and resistant to disease.
It seems the more exotic and beautiful a fish is the harder it is to feed, one example I have is with a very favourite fish of mine the Copper Band Butterfly (Chelmon Rostratus) they are one of the more difficult fish to keep and can be difficult to feed (take a look at their mouth, specific feeders). One shipment of fish that arrived in my store (South Coast Aquarium) contained a very nice medium size Copperband (see photo),

over the first few days it was very shy in the Aquarium that also had some existing fish that where feeding well and a bit boisterous at dinner time, but with persistent feeding of New Life Spectrum Thera+a I was happy to see the Copperband feeding within the week and within two weeks was keen to get in amongst it with the other bossy Tangs and Angels in the Tank.
New Life Spectrum 1mm sinking pellets seem just the right size for most Marine Aquarium fish that we commonly keep in the home Aquarium, as with most Marine fish (even the larger ones) they seem to have small mouths, and prefer to pick at their food off the bottom of the tank rather than the floating Flakes that we once fed on a daily basis.

I have been in the Aquarium Trade for over 20 years now and one of the biggest changes I’ve seen is the development of quality ornamental fish food available on the market today.
It has really opened the door to a whole lot more success in the Hobby, and all of a sudden that fish we only dreamed of keeping is now within reach.
